【SHIMANE】Let's Walk Through The Old Silver Mine.
The Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine in Shimane Prefecture was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2007 and is the first mining site in Asia. A lot of silver was mined from the 1500s to the closing of the mine in 1943.
Here, you can see the tunnel called "Mabu" dug for silver mining.
We will continue to look at the beautiful scenery.
It's about 2.3km to Mabu, so it's a good walk.
If you don't like walking, don't worry, there are rental bicycles.
This is the entrance to Ryugenji Mabu Mine Shaft.
This is what it looks like inside the tunnel.
Check out the short video here.
After passing through the tunnel, there is a fragrant wood souvenir shop.
It has a nice scent, so if you like it, you can buy it as a souvenir.
You can see silver replicas at the Iwami Ginzan World Heritage Center.
